August 26, 2013 by Sister Roueche

This week was so fun!  The temperature is cooling down, we met with some people who haven’t had time to meet with us, visited with lots of members, had lots of inspiration, and are just having a GREAT TIME!  (more…)

  2. Beach Day!!

August 19, 2013 by Sister Roueche

This past Thursday was Liberation Day in Korea! On August 15th, 1945, Korea was liberated from its long subjection to Japanese rule and dominion. So, in honor of the holiday, I got to go to the beach with the Chungjang Ward! (more…)

  3. “Jesus Loves Mormons”

August 12, 2013 by Sister Roueche

Last week we were walking from church to the closest bus stop when I saw a group of Philipino women up ahead, probably all leaving the nearby Philipino market and spending the day together.  All of a sudden one of them turned around and started to run/jog/skip towards us while shouting, “Jesus loves Mormons!”  (more…)

  4. Talking to Strangers

August 5, 2013 by Sister Roueche

I remember when I was little, I teased my mom all the time because she had no shame in talking to strangers; now, that’s my life.  But, so many times I feel like I walk away with a friend, no longer strangers!  (more…)

July 15, 2013 by Sister Roueche

People told me it’d be hot and humid here, but I just kept telling them that my hometown was just like Korea and I was used to hot plus 1000% humidity. Little did I know how unprepared I was.  (more…)

  8. And a Pinch to Grow an Inch!

July 8, 2013 by Sister Roueche

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! My birthday was last Tuesday! It’s crazy because while I’m on my mission I’ll miss two of all the best holidays: Birthday (last year, only 5 days after I entered the MTC it was my birthday!), Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween…only Valentine’s Day and Easter are spared the sacrifice. Well, there’s no sacrifice, it’s just spending these holidays in a totally different way that has absolutely nothing to do with getting, but instead giving. (more…)

July 1, 2013 by Sister Roueche

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters… As of Thursday June 27th, I have been on my mission for ONE WHOLE YEAR!  I thought I’d share with you some of what I’ve picked up in the time that I’ve spent away from the world on the Lord’s errand. (more…)
